What is the Book Sprint?

BOOK SPRINT - A Book For The Future Made By You

DIY DAYS is all about discovery and collaboration. A testing ground for participatory storytelling and design science. In an open experiment, we’ve decided to log the events of DIY DAYS and encourage attendees to help us curate the future. In order to do so we’ve created a Book Sprint.

With our Book Sprint, we are going beyond the usual social media stream and embracing a social stream that is part curation and part reflection.

Here’s how you can participate.

1. Become a curator for the future

Join in at DIY DAYS by gathering links, quotes, video, audio, art, critical issues, possible solutions and anything else that strikes you as something that would be valuable for someone to find in a 100 years.

It’s simple to participate. Just do one of the following:

1. Tweet links, quotes, and anything else you feel is relevant. Use the hashtag #W4tF

2. Submit a post or make a comment at http://booksprint.tumblr.com/submit

3. Contribute something longer (post, article, interview) by sending an email to work@workbookproject.com with the subject “book sprint submission”

2. Be a sense-maker

All collected items will then be used in a Book Sprint, which takes place over the week following the DIY DAYS NYC event.

LOOKING FOR COLLABORATORS
We are looking for people who’d like to help design, build and contribute to the physical book that we’ll produce. That’s right, not only will the book be a downloadable PDF, but we’ll also produce seven copies (one for each time capsule) that are made with special archival ink and paper - something that can survive being sealed away for 100 years.

If you’d like to participate, drop us an email at work@workbookproject.com with the subject “I want to help.” Make sure to tell us what you’re interested in lending a hand with, where you are in the world and what your schedule will be like March 3rd through March 9th.
